Alan Laleman Alan “Butch” F. Laleman, age 56 of rural Lucan, formerly of Marshall, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home. A time of visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Alan “Butch” F. Laleman was born December 19, 1958 in Marshall, Minnesota to George J. and Alice (Lanoue) Laleman. He was baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy, and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1977, and completed his Bachelor’s degree through Southwest State University in Marshall and the University of Minnesota. He furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Alan was employed by General Motors as a mechanical engineer and over the years, his job led him to live various places, including Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, and Minnesota. He was involved with designing the first Saturn cars. Following his retirement from GM, Alan worked at several businesses in Marshall. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, including football and basketball.

Alan is survived by his father George J. Laleman of Marshall; sisters Gerri (Merlyn) Steffen of Lucan, Sue (Jeff) Enstad of Willmar; nieces and nephews: Rhonda (James) Pohlen, Ron (Elodie) Steffen, Ryan (Katherine) Steffen, Spencer Enstad, Marin Enstad; great nieces & great nephew: Ella, Jada, & Crist Pohlen; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Alice, grandparents Leon & Alice Laleman and Camille & Mary Lanoue, and nephew Avery Josiah Enstad.

  1. Thoughts & prayers are with George & the family. Always enjoyed riding back & forth with Butch from the U of MN. Gone way too soon.
