Atreyu Burlyn Cortez Corbett was born March 10, 2014 in Olivia, Minnesota to Konrad Tellinghuisen and Becky Corbett. Before Atreyu was conceived, his parents knew their son’s name would be “Atreyu”. His name was inspired by one of his parents’ favorite movies as children, “The NeverEnding Story”. He was named after the young child warrior Atreyu. He was the epitome of a brave and gentle warrior. Atreyu was an explorer. He loved moving around, looking at and investigating new things. He was a very curious baby. He loved to pet dogs and cats and they loved to kiss his little feet. One of his favorite things to do was to sit outside with Gram and watch the cars go by. Atreyu loved to look at the trees and watch animals in the yard. He and Gram liked to watch Mickey Mouse, Cops, and Judge Judy together. Atreyu loved to read with mommy. His favorite colors were blue and green. Atreyu loved to tell stories and was amused by his own voice. He liked to dance and listen to music. His favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine”. In June, he went on his first airplane ride and got to visit the Pacific Ocean. Atreyu and his baby cousin, Khalil, got to experience their first Wacipi together this summer. They were baby grass dancers. Atreyu loved to spend time at his Kunsi and Papa’s house. When he was told he was going there, he would laugh and smile. His Kunsi was the first person who could make him laugh. He loved to sit outside with Kunsi and Papa and dance with them to their music. Atreyu was a happy, loving, curious, and intelligent baby. He was a son, grandson, great-grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. In his short life he touched many lives and put a smile on so many faces. Thank you to everyone who loved him and provided a beautiful world for him to live in. His energy and good vibes will be forever felt in our hearts and minds.

Atreyu is survived by his mom Becky Corbett; dad Konrad Tellinghuisen Jr.; grandparents Rita and Konrad Tellinghuisen; great-grandparents: Bette Barnes, Joe Corbett, Earl Tellinghuisen, Geri Leith, and Gerald Blue; aunties: Taralyn Blue, Arielle Aude, Deli and Dani Corbett, and Shannon Blue; uncles: Mike Aude, Alex and Erick Blue, and Justin Peters; and many other amazing family members and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his uncle Jimmie, great-great grandma Pearl, great-great grandparents Leona and Burlyn Barnes, and uncles Todd, Kevin, and James Azure (Jimmy Do).
