Norman Lee Baldwin age 81 of Marshall, formerly of Kooskia, Idaho and Spokane, Washington, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall. 

Graveside memorial services will be held June 15, 2013 in Tahoe Ridge, Kooskia, ID.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice House, 1107 Skyline Circle, Marshall, MN, 56258.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Norman Lee Baldwin was born December 24, 1931 at the family home on Tahoe Ridge near Kooskia, ID to Frank and Mabel (Lyons) Baldwin. He was the fifth child of 12 children. Norman attended school at the Tahoe Country School until the eighth grade. He served in the Marines in 1952, but was given an honorable discharge in a month for medical reasons. Then in 1954 he was called to help transport new recruits from Grangeville, ID to Spokane, WA to the recruiting office.
Norman then went to work for the forest service and enjoyed packing horses in and out.  He also worked at packing and hunting for Wally York Outfitters of Elk City, ID.  Norman worked several jobs and enjoyed farming for Grant and Sharon Miles of Weippe, ID.  He was a member of the Kooskia Saddlers Riding Club.  He did a lot of fishing and hunting. Norman married Arla Kiele in 1954 and had three children, Brenda Jo Oct. 25, 1955, Norman Ray Oct. 1, 1956, and Bonnie Arlene Jan. 14, 1957.   They divorced Oct. 10, 1978.  He remarried Olivie (Mallory) in Emmett, ID, on June 19, 1981.  They lived in Spokane, WA, until moving to Marshall, MN.  In 2004, Norman lived in Boulder Estates, Marshall until moving to the Hospice House September 15, 2012.

Norman is survived by son Norman Ray Baldwin of Tracy, MN; daughter Bonnie and Loren Ford of Emmett, ID; grandsons Cory Ford of Emmett, ID and Kelly and Cindy Ford of Napa, ID; 2 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; 8 siblings: James and Helen (Hunter) Baldwin of Kooskia, ID, Elsie Morgan of Port Angeles, WA, Violet Kinnick of Kamiah, ID, Elva McFeron of Kamiah, ID, Leonard Baldwin of Orofino, Dan and Penny (Morley) Baldwin of Elk City, ID, Jeff and Patricia (Gering) Baldwin, of Kooskia, ID, and Martha and Gary Goff of Meridian; and several nephews and nieces.  He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mable Baldwin, daughter Brenda Jo on April 24, 1959, brothers Leo and David, and sister Linda Denham.
