Alcox-BettyBetty Leora Alcox age 76 of Redwood Falls passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Seasons Hospice.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Interment is in Olivia City Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Leora Alcox was born October 26, 1936 at Willmar, MN to Glen and Annie (Moncur) Alcox. She lived most of her younger life at Olivia. Betty attended school at Olivia and All Saints Episcopal School for girls at Sioux Falls, SD. She attended the DAC at Olivia. Betty participated in Special Olympics for many years and won numerous medals. In 1986 she moved to Redwood Falls to be near family. Betty worked at SEI as long as she was able. She was a special person and stayed a child at heart all her life. Family was so important to Betty, especially the babies and children. She taught us many lessons in life. We were lucky to have had her for so long. Thanks Betty.

Betty is survived by her sisters: Janet Bratsch of Renville, Mary Lou Hildebrandt and Vicki (Larry) Mertens, both of Redwood Falls; nieces and nephews: Joann (Bob) Cramer, Dick (Liz) and Larry (Sherrie) Bratsch, Rodney J., Doug (Paulette), Jim (Barb), and Dan (Deb) Hildebrandt, Mary (Gene) Luckhardt, Deb (Greg) Price, Dawn (Rick) Jansen, David and Chad (Nichole) Mertens; many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She is now united with Bob and Annie Swenson, Glen and Edith Alcox, brothers John and Rawliegh Alcox, nephew Ronald Bratsch, great niece Samantha Price, great nephew Jeff Hildebrandt, and brothers-in-law Orvel Bratsch and Rodney Hildebrandt.
