Ella Blomeke age 97 of Belview passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Parkview Home in Belview.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Belview.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday AT THE CHURCH and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.  Interment is in Belview Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ella Ida Blomeke was born November 14, 1914 near Morgan, MN to August and Emma (Ott) Kopischke.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  Ella attended country school near Morgan.  On June 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Armin Blomeke at Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan.  They farmed in rural Morgan until 1946 when they purchased their own farm south of Belview.  In 1960 they moved into town.  Armin passed away in March, 1989, and Ella continued living in Belview.  Ella was an active member of the Ladies Aid at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  She was also a member of Rolling Prairie Senior Citizens, Parkview Auxiliary, and the Extension Club.  Ella was an avid gardener until she passed away, and also enjoyed quilting and playing cards.

Ella is survived by her children Dennis (Jan) Blomeke, Sharon Biastock, and Gordon (significant other Marsha Zimmermann) Blomeke, all of Belview; 4 grandchildren: Jon Blomeke of Minneapolis, Lisa (fiancé Matt Hays) Unruh of Lakeville, David (Lori) Biastock of rural Marshall, and Mary Lee (Don Thomson) Mortenson of Ft. Myers, FL; great grandchildren: Haylee and Lauren Unruh, Anna, Abby and Amanda Biastock, and Ella Mortenson; sister Melva Christensen of Springfield; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Armin, 2 brothers Alfred and Otto Kopischke, and a stillborn daughter.
