Christopher WoodfordChristopher David Woodford age 26 of Redwood Falls formerly of Shakopee passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Redwood Area Hospital.  Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Christopher David Woodford was born November 6, 1990 to Derek Woodford and Heidi Jordan in Redwood Falls.  He was baptized at Teen Challenge.  Christopher attended Shakopee Senior High School and graduated in 2007.  Christopher was married to Daniela Mora and together they had one daughter Olivia.  They were later divorced.  He also graduated from Minnesota Teen Challenge on March 26, 2015.  Christopher married Joyce Panitzke on December 11, 2016 in Las Vegas.  Christopher managed Pizza Hut in Redwood Falls. He worked at Jackpot Junction for the past eight months as a house man and house keeper.  Family was very important to Christopher.  He loved spending time with his daughter Olivia and his brothers and sisters.  Christopher often stopped to visit his grandparents and great-grandparents.  Christopher always enjoyed helping people in any way. He took care of his mother in-law Darlene and helped with the foster kids.  Christopher loved playing games with the kids and jumping on the trampoline. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, bowling, loved watching movies and spending time at the river bottom with his family.  Christopher loved animals and had all kinds of pets.  He enjoyed listening to music as a coping skill and traveling.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed reciting humorous movie lines.

Christopher is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Olivia; step children: Shelby and Mike Panitzke; father Derek (Dana) Woodford of Redwood Falls; mother Heidi (Mike) Nelson of Savage; brothers: Cole and Carson Woodford; sisters: Lexi, Halle and Nicole Nelson; grandparents: Deb Tholkes of Redwood Falls, Kathy Gould of Duluth, Jerry Gould of Sauk Rapids, Elizabeth and Alvin Nelson of Burnsville and Paula Jordan of Marshall; great-grandmother Jean Halter of Redwood Falls; mother-in-law Darlene Zimmerli of Redwood Falls; special friend Justina Bidinger and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Wally Jordan, David Woodford, Floyd Halter and Deb’s fiancé Frank Pratt, and great uncle Mark Halter.

    I loved Chris like a brother we went through teen challenge together and we were always there for each other. He was a true man of God and he was always there for me in good times and bad. This is so heart breaking to lose one of my best friends I’ve ever had. Fly high with Jesus my brother your truly going to be missed.

  5. I got the pleasure of working with Chris for a couple of weeks at jackpot in housekeeping and I always enjoyed his smile and his eagerness to help with anything that you needed… He will truely be missed at work and every where else r.I.p. Chris God loves you

    There are no words that can express the immense sorrow that we all feel. Chris was an amazing person. Made me laugh with his one liners, loved his wife Joyce and Daughter Olivia. Cannot imagine the sadness they feel. His Mother Heidi and all the family will never be the same. We knew he was a man of God & know he is with Him now. Gods blessings and sending prayers daily.
