Clifton Neal Frisvold was born January 19, 1931 in Slayton, MN to Clifford and Eleanor (Bentzin) Frisvold. He attended District #89 School in Murray County and graduated from Tracy High School in 1948. Upon graduation, he engaged in farming with his father on the family farm near Lake Shetek. Clifton was drafted in the United States Army in 1952, serving in the Korean War. Prior to leaving overseas, he and Lorraine were united in marriage on November 28, 1952, in Tracy, Minnesota. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in April 1954, the couple made their home on the family farm, where they raised their four children. Clifton remained actively engaged in farming until 2003, and the family farm was designated a Century Farm in 2007. Farming was his life-long passion, and he especially enjoyed each spring season. Clifton was baptized and confirmed at Modum Lutheran Church in rural Lake Sarah Township, Murray County, which became Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin, Minnesota following a merger with Bethany Lutheran Church in the 1950s. He served in numerous capacities within the church throughout the years, from construction crew in the church building process, to leadership positions, Sunday School teacher and the choir. Clifton enjoyed numerous activities over his life, including hunting, fishing and bowling. Watching the Twins, Vikings, Gophers and Lynx was important to him, as well as attending local sporting events. He was very committed to his family his entire life, and especially loved watching his grandchildren grow. He was a member of the Tracy VFW and the Tracy Lions Club.
