Dagny MinsaasDagny Marilynn Minsaas age 85 of Granite Falls passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Granite Falls Hospital while surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be held in Sparta Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dagny was born April 8, 1929 in Montevideo, MN to Johnny & Phyllis (Aitchison) Kraakaas. She was baptized and confirmed at Stony Run Lutheran Church. Dagny graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1947. On June 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bob Minsaas at Stony Run Lutheran Church. Dagny worked as a cook at the Granite Falls schools for 19 years, and worked as the principal’s secretary at Granite Falls High School for 24 years. She also volunteered at the mealsite. Dagny was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Bible study. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed horses and motorcycle riding with Bob. Dagny liked playing bingo, cards and canasta. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and going to lunches with her friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Dagny is survived by her son Thomas Raymond (Tricia) Minsaas of Canton, SD; grandsons Blake Ryan Minsaas of Vermillion, SD and Tyler Thomas Minsaas of Canton, SD; great granddaughter Sophia Mae Farnsworth; sisters Dorothy Coubal of Graceville and Gwendolyn (Rod) Huismann of Gheen; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob on February 18, 2010, an infant sister, and brother in law Joe Coubal.

  2. My deepest sympathy to all family and her friends. I worked with Dagney and the GF High School and enjoyed her very much. She was a very intelligent and hard working women. I will miss seeing her from time to time and chatting.
    May she rest in peace!
