Dorothy RebstockDorothy Kenney Rebstock age 92 of Redwood Falls died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her home while surrounded by her family.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.  Burial is in the Redwood Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy (Dooner) Kenney Rebstock was born March 29, 1925 to Michael and Martha (Johnson) Dooner in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  She attended grade school in Redwood and Renville counties, and graduated from Olivia Public School in 1944.  Her first job after high school was in Redwood Falls at the Red Owl grocery store in the meat department.  Then she moved to Minneapolis to work at Honeywell making periscopes until the war ended.  She then came back to Redwood Falls to work at Gambles and Ben Franklin.  Dorothy married Art Kenney on September 12, 1950.  They lived in Redwood Falls, Morton, and Wabasso.  While in Wabasso, they owned a bar and lounge, and later operated a popcorn wagon, traveling from the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico.  Art passed away Feb 22, 1977.  On August 14, 1978 Dorothy married Bob Rebstock of Franklin, where they lived until moving to Redwood Falls.  Bob passed away November 6, 1996.  Dorothy was a member of CCW at St. Catherine’s, VFW Auxiliary in Redwood Falls, and the Showmen’s Auxiliary of Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Dorothy always had the coffee pot on and a warm smile to welcome you into her home.  She enjoyed embroidering dish towels, making jam, and making everyone feel special.  She was always ready for an adventure.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Kathy (Tim) Mahal, Lee Kenney, Tom (Sandy) Rebstock, Dick (Lois) Rebstock, Deb (Jay) Brown, Bob (Lori) Rebstock; grandchildren: Matt Mahal, Megan Mahal, Laura Lee Wahldick, Candy Korte, Kaisha Meier, John Rebstock, Kim Madsen, Jackie Rebstock, Ryan Rebstock, Joe Rebstock, Ted Brown, Sadie Stewart, Daniel Rebstock, Travis Rebstock, Hunter Rebstock, Christina Rebstock; 18 great-grandchildren: Tripp, Roslynn, Magnolia, Brooklyn, Austin, Skylar, Zak, Mason, Tyler, Taylor, Rowdy, Ireland, Brecken, Ryker, Julia, Sage, Shelby, and Noelle; sisters Shirley Brandjord and JoAnn Holien; brother Mike (Marilyn) Dooner; sisters-in-law: Arlene Dooner, LaVonne Forbrook, and Marlee Kenney; and special friend Sandy Seehausen.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Art and Bob, sisters: Lois (Wencel) Frank, Donna (Ralph) Eisenbacher, Kathy (Mike) Perazzo, brothers: Clarence (Grace) Dooner, and Don Dooner, and in-laws: Stanley Holien, Gerald Brandjord, Bob Kenney, Phyllis (Bob) Nelson, Lorraine (Wayne) Jones, Willmar Forbrook, Bill & Arlene Rebstock, Jack & Torchie Rebstock, Peggy (Duane) Vane, and Mike Rebstock.

A special thanks to the Hospice team for the great care they gave to Dorothy.
