Gordon “Gordy” Landuyt, age 67 of Tracy, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home.  Visitation will be held for one hour starting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 at the Tracy Area Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service.  Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gordon John “Gordy” Landuyt was born December 4, 1950 in Marshall, Minnesota to George and Erma (Langsweirdt) Landuyt.  He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1968.  Gordy served in the US Army and was stationed for a period of time in Germany.  He was a member of the Tracy American Legion, enjoyed being outdoors and his work as a handyman.  He loved watching the Minnesota Gophers and Twins.  Most of all, Gordy loved being with his family, and being surrounded by children – they were naturally drawn to him.  He always had treat bags prepared for all the kids who visited.

Gordy is survived by his son, Marc Landuyt; siblings: Gerald (Kandy) Landuyt, Gloria (Roger) VanOverbeke, Glad Henning, George Jr. (Kris) Landuyt, Gail (Tom) Boyum, Gwen (Dale Jr.) Johnson; sister-in-law Doris Landuyt; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Georgena Smith and Gary Landuyt.

I have fond memories of growing up across the street from Gordy. Even though we have a 10 year age gap, he always happily included the younger kids. I have more memories as an adult getting together with him while we were both living in Minneapolis. Gordy was a good guy. My thoughts are with his family. He will be missed.

Our prayers and sympathy to the Landuyt family. I grew up knowing some of the Landuyt kids in various scenarios…my dad worked for gorsys dad George, Gail and Gwen we’re our babysitters, and Gary was in my class, I worked for Jr. and Mike for a short time and visited with Gordy every chance we met at the farm. RIP Gordy!
