  3. Sending special prayers for entire family; many of my greatest childhood memories are those at the Gewerth farm. The welcome wagon was always filled with Aunt Helen’s special laugh and giving heart. Sorry I cannot make it to the services but know that I will be sharing in the family’s prayers. Hugs to all.

  4. Where to start. This is likely going to be long. First, I apologize to all friends and family that I am unable to make it. I will not go into the details because I want to talk more about Grandma Gewerth than myself. Here are the things I remember most about Grandma. I remember her cooking. I remember her telling me how she had to chase after one of my tents I had brought with me during a visit. A storm showed up and ripped it from the ground and that spry, energetic lady chased, CHASED that thing down and drug it into a barn in that storm! I remember her laughter and her disbelief I put a half dozen puzzles together, each in less than 7 minutes, and made me do it again. I remember her calming Adam and I because somehow we managed to start one of the tractors and none of could figure out how to shut it off. Beyond all of that, what I remember the most is her passion, caring, and desire to see a mistake undone and a father and son reunited. I still remember the day when she asked me if I wanted to see my father. The look on her face as she asked was of sheer determination, conviction, and love. My life and my personality is the type where I forget to stay in touch and I do have many regrets, but I never once regret the precious time that I did have with Grandma Gewerth. God rest your soul and rest in peace, Grandma. I will never forget you and you will always be in my life and memories.

  5. My Deepest sympathy to all the family. My prayers are with you even though I cannot be there. Many fond memories of Helen. She was a worker and enjoyed life.
