Jody Grannes

Jody Grannes

Jody GrannesJody Lynn Grannes, 51, of Belview passed away peacefully at 6:30 am on October 19, 2017 at the Redwood Area Hospital.  It was a picturesque sunrise that day – the type that Jody, with her keen eye and passion for photography, embraced. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23 at Christ’s Victory Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service held at 6:30 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church. Interment will be at Belview City Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.

Jody was born on January 6, 1966 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  She was baptized in Belview, Minnesota on February 13, 1966 at Grace Lutheran Church.  She confirmed her faith at Grace Lutheran and later graduated from Belview High School in 1984.  Jody loved children.  She served as a Sunday school teacher, often babysat, and had special relationships (usually involving snapping photos) with her nieces and nephew.  In addition to her natural ability to capture the beauty of her surroundings with the camera, she also enjoyed taking photos of her many family members that she held close at heart and who reciprocated that love back to her.  Throughout her life, Jody wore many hats.  She worked in electronic repair in Redwood Falls at Artesyn Technologies, Daktronics, and RVI.  She also spent time working at Grannes Gas and Groceries in Wood Lake and later, with her brother Mike, co-managed Grannes Gas and Groceries in Belview.  For many years she played organ at Grace Lutheran.  After her diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme in January 2016, the hats she fashionably wore were to cover scars from her cancer battle.

Jody is survived by her parents Charles and Judy Grannes of Belview, brother Michael Grannes of Belview, sister Cathy (Dale) Buske of Sartell, brother Clark (Denise) Grannes of Belview, nieces Carli Grannes, Reagan Buske, Jenna Grannes, and Taylor Buske, and nephew Luke Grannes.  She was preceded in death by her baby brother Christopher, grandparents Ole and Inga Grannes, and grandparents William and Bernice Clarken.
