John Henderson, the son of Edwin and Minnie (Buery) Henderson, was born March 22, 1922 in Paxton Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. He was baptized in June 1922 and confirmed in 1935 in the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. John attended grade school at country school District 2. After graduation, he helped on the family farm. Later he continued to farm in Honner and Paxton Townships. John also owned and operated a farm near Bertha for a few years. He liked having a small flock of sheep and was proud of the lambs that arrived every spring. John was a Farm Bureau member. Sometimes he and Russell Swigart cut firewood together, which he used to heat his home. John enjoyed going to farm auction sales and to the Morton Senior Center for meals and visiting.
John is survived by two sisters: Margaret Saxton at Sunrise Senior Living in Roseville and Mary Ann Zahasky at Madonna Towers in Rochester; brother Arthur (Esther) Henderson of Redwood Falls; and 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Arthur and Maria Henderson and John and Louise Buery, and sister Helen Wise. Blessed be his memory.
