LeMoyne Kenneth Jorgenson “Jorgie” was born May 23, 1929 to Thomas and Gladys (Hanson) Jorgenson in Westbrook Township, Minnesota. He attended Westbrook Public School and Double Lake Country School. He married his bride of 62 years, Frances Anna Vosberg, on June 12, 1950 to which seven children were born. Jorgie farmed with his father and later with his three sons for over 50 years.  Jorgie’s passion and legacy were family and farming. Jorgie was happiest when surrounded by his family. Farming formed his character as an honest, loyal, and hard-working son, father, and friend. His family remembers him for his thoughtfulness as he carefully selected each greeting card that he faithfully sent to celebrate important milestones.  He had great fondness for his coffee friends, music, and his pets. He supported and served his community through volunteering on the Good Samaritan Board, Westbrook Township Board, Westbrook Lions, Westbrook Health Center Vision for the Future, Heartland State Bank Board of Directors, and Westbrook Cemetery Board.  On July 31, Jorgie suffered from a stroke and fought hard throughout the week in order to return to his home. On August 5, he went to his heavenly home and joined his wife, his son Jon Paul, grandson Lee Jon Schmidt, and his parents.

He is survived by his children: Bruce (Joan) Jorgenson of Westbrook, Kathy (Dale) Schmidt of Garvin, David (Laurel) Jorgenson of Westbrook, Susan (Steven) Schmitt of Long Lake, Joanne (Gordon) Cannon of Calgary, Alberta, and James (Nikki) Jorgenson of Westbrook. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Ryan (Beth Karpen) Jorgenson, Sara (Levi) Sanders, Christopher (Kelly McConnell) Schmidt, Nichole (Jason) Swan, Stacie (David) Rentschler, Eric (Manda) Jorgenson, Scott (Jessie) Jorgenson, Amy (Paul) Kubista, Renae (Robert) Von Kaenel, Kelly (Joe) Wynn, Victoria Cannon, Blake Cannon, Jack Jorgenson and Katherine Jorgenson; and 23 great grandchildren.

  7. Julie (Herrlinger) Saltee

Our heart is with you all as you mourn the passing of a dear family member. May you be comforted by your wonderful memories of a great man and the knowledge that he is at home in heaven with the Lord, experiencing things that we cannot even imagine. Heaven is the real world – earth is just a small blip on the radar of life, a temporary journey that we walk for a time. I didn’t know Jorgie well, he came to the Herrlinger/Vosberg family reunion at our farm in Canby a few times and it was always a joy to have them here. He will surely be missed. Blessed be his memory.

  8. I became friends with (Francis and) Jorgy through my friendship with Sandy Wika. Whenever we visited the Slayton area, we made a point of stopping in Westbrook to visit. Our last such visit was on Memorial Day weekend 2016. They were both incredibly nice and hospitable people, and they will be missed by family and friends alike.

  9. Sorry for your loss. Jorgie will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to all the family.
May God bless and sustain you during this your time of loss.

  10. Just now read of Lemoyne’s passing. My deepest condolences to family. Trust that he suffers no more, but has his reward in heaven and rests comfortably with Christ the Savior. God bless.
