Larry LokenLarry S. Loken age 49 of Franklin passed away unexpectedly on Friday,
October 9, 2009 of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday
at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00
p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and will continue
one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Interment is
in the Morton City Cemetery. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home of
Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements. Online

Larry S. Loken was born October 24, 1959 in Redwood Falls, MN to
Hendrick and Alice (Riebe) Loken. He was baptized and confirmed
at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton. Larry graduated from Morton High
School in 1978. He then attended two years of vocational college
in Granite Falls. Larry worked for 29 years as an electronics technician.
On Septemeber 4, 1998 Larry was united in marriage to Joann Haubrick
in Olivia, MN. His daughter Peyton was born in September 1999. Larry
was very proud of his daughter. She became the focus of his life.
He greatly enjoyed spending time with Peyton playing tennis, golf
or just driving on the golf cart. They also enjoyed ice fishing
and riding on the four-wheeler. Larry was a lifelong member of Zion
Lutheran Church. During high school he played on the baseball and
football teams. He also played catcher for the Legion baseball team
in his younger years. Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing
darts and cards.

Larry is survived by his daughter Peyton and her mother Joann Loken
of Morgan; siblings: Joyce Hempel of Slayton, Galen “Punkie”
Hempel of Clearwater, Connie Beaulieu of Cass Lake, Rick Hempel
and fiancé Deanna of Franklin and Kevin Loken and wife Connie
of Alexandria; special aunts Inga and Eleanor both of Granite Falls;
several godchildren and many other relatives and friends. He is
preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Clifford, Alden and
Scott; sisters: Ingrid, Debbie and Michelle; and nephews Brian Hempel
and Scott Loken.
