Marc is survived by his wife Geri; parents Marvin and Mary Ellen Mattson of Balaton; step children: Hailey Erbes of Tracy, Allen Erbes of Tracy, Madison Majeres of Hutchinson; brother Michael Mattson (special friend Kris Priebe) of St. Cloud; nieces and nephews: Derek Michalski, Mindy Michalski, Eric Mattson, Marissa Mattson, Kacy Clark, Peyton Clark, and Lindsay Mattson; father-in-law Don “Gassy” Verdick; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, sister Maren Michalski, nephew David Mattson, and mother-in-law Sandy Polzine.

I remember all the kids I had for all those years at Balaton School and I see his face as that little youngster growing up in the grade school to watching him graduate to be an outstanding individual. 21. Life is short. Enjoy every moment. The loss of two children and a grandson is more than anyone should or can bear. That is why we have to bend and let God carry us. His plan is not for us to understand, but we are never alone. His promise of eternal life is real He is with us always. Much love to an amazing family.

As a man of faith he joyfully serve Lord God by serving his brothers and sisters at Avera Marshall and within his community. We will miss his smiling face. In the midst of your sorrow, be assured of Christ’s love, peace, joy, and sure hope given to us through His Word and Sacraments. God’s comforting peace!

  23. To Marc’s family
I worked with Marc in Marshall for many years, and always knew he was a great guy. Always so helpful and never made you feel like you were imposing on his time or a ‘bother’ (even though sometimes I am sure I was). When I left, he made it a point to stop and say good bye and good luck. Now having worked in other places I can again see how exceptional he really was. My continued prayers for Gods love and comfort as you move forward.

  24. It was an honor and privilege to work with Marc at Avera Marshall. He was the sort of person that everyone knew he had their back. So sorry for your loss.
