Richard “Dick” Kelley

Dick KellyRichard “Dick” Kelley was born and raised in Tracy, graduating from Tracy Public School in 1952.  He attended the University of Minnesota receiving his Mortuary Science degree in 1954.  Dick interned at Welander/Quist Funeral Home in Minneapolis and returned to Tracy to work with his father at the funeral home and furniture store.

He served in the US Army and returned to Tracy following his discharge.  He continued to work with his father, and later joined in partnership until his father retired.   He sold the business in 1971.

Dick  has worked at various jobs, including farming for 15 years south of Tracy.  He has continued to work part time at the funeral home, assisting John Jacobson, Tim Kulow, and currently Nathan Stephens at the Tracy Area Funeral Home.
