Michael “Mike” J. Miller

Michael “Mike” J. Miller age 49 of Lucan passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso, MN following a long, courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 27 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:30 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Minnesota Chapter, 7362 University Ave NE, Ste. 303, Fridley, MN  55432

Michael “Mike” J. Miller was born August 31, 1962 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Rose Ann (Brey) Miller.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.  Mike graduated from Wabasso High School.  On December 5, 1981, Mike was united in marriage to Sandra Guetter at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota.  Mike loved farming, and started on the family farm at an early age, and continued until 1985 when he and Sandy moved to North Dakota.  There, he attended North Dakota State School of Science for welding.  Mike later returned to the Milroy area and worked various jobs, including Boerboom International Implement as a parts specialist, Cottonwood Welding, and Viessman Trucking.  Mike was a member of the Catholic Church, most recently Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.  He enjoyed any outdoor activity, including hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle and snowmobile.  Mike loved driving truck, and also cruising the countryside and sightseeing.  Dirt track racing at the Redwood Speedway was another pastime of Mike’s.  He greatly enjoyed watching family members’ sporting events.  In the recent years, Mike enjoyed visits from family and friends, and going on outings.  Mike’s children were his greatest joy.

Mike is survived by his children Brandon, Tim, and Cassie Miller, all of Milroy; mother Rose Ann Miller of Lucan; siblings: Debra (Carlie) Berg of Martinsdale, MT, Nancy (Ralph) Brand of Valley Springs, SD, Kathy (Al) Plaetz of Lucan, and Marilyn (Lyle) Williams of Russel, MN; former wife Sandy Miller of Milroy; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father, Kenneth.
