Jason Michael Petty

Jason Michael Petty, age 39 of Seaforth died Friday, July 30, 2010 en route to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14 at the Redwood Area School Performing Arts Center.

Visitation will begin Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Performing Arts Center and continue until time of services.  A fund has been set up for the family: Jason Petty Memorial at United Southwest Bank, 176 South Broadway, Vesta, MN  56292.  The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jason was born February 20, 1971 in New Ulm, MN to Michael and Nancy (Wenger) Petty.  He grew up in Wabasso , MN after which he married his high school sweetheart Jane (Rohlik) of Vesta.  They were married for 18 years.  Jason then worked for Coca Cola Company, Schwan’s of Marshall and Schmidt Construction of Redwood Falls.  He was currently employed at S.M. Hentges and Sons Inc. of Jordan, MN.  Jason was a member of the Local 49 International Union of Operating Engineers for over 10 years where he was a boom crane operator and transporter of heavy equipment.  To those on the job, Jason was known as a very dedicated and careful worker.

Jason took great pleasure in taking trips with his family, camping, boating and snowmobiling out west with friends. You could find him taking his family, along with nieces and nephews, to the lake for some fun.  He was known to family by the name of Brutus for his teddy bear size.  He was a man who looked forward to grilling and enjoyed a good steak.  His friends considered him a devoted and outgoing person.  He was a man who loved his dear wife and sons a great deal.  Jason will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Jane and sons Collin and Andy; mother Nancy (Larry) Massmann; father Michael (Karen) Petty; and brother Bryan.  He is preceded in death by his Grandparents and Father-in-law.
