Richard Raden Richard James “Dick” Raden, age 74 of Redwood Falls, passed away on Friday January 15, 2016 at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 23 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am Saturday and will continue until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Richard James Raden was born September 14, 1941 in Waite Park, Minnesota to John and Florence (Jakobek) Raden. He attended schools in Minneapolis. On April 29, 1972 Dick married Marie Tauer at Incarnation Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Together the couple lived in several communities before settling in Redwood Falls in 1985. Dick worked for Specialty Engineering until it closed. He held several other jobs until retiring in 2006. Dick was very active in scouting, serving as Cub Master for Pack 73 and troop leader of Troop 70 for many years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and doing crafts. Dick loved hunting, especially his annual deer hunting trip with Cory.

Dick is survived by his wife Marie of 43 years; sons: Rick (Danielle) of Lamberton, Cory of Redwood Falls, and Brian of Apple Valley; grandchildren: Gaven Raden of Hoffman, Jessica Raden of New York City, NY, Samantha Raden of Wichita, KS, and Jeffrey Raden; siblings: Ed (Dee) Raden of Maple Grove, Alma Chalberg of Milaca, Jeanette Franklin of Castaic, CA, and Patricia Michalec of Las Vegas, NV; mother-in-law Adella Tauer of Hanska; brothers and sisters-in-law: Gary Tauer, Pat (Linda) Tauer, Marlin Tauer, Clete (Patti) Tauer, Dennis “Luke” Tauer, all of Sleepy Eye, Marlie (Larry) Decker of Waverly, Eileen Tauer of New Ulm, Diane (Jim) Reed of Darfur, Monica (Bob) Farasyn of New Ulm, Doug Tauer of Hanska, Rich (Kathi) Tauer of Surprise, AZ, Tom Tauer of Little Corn, Nicaragua, and Wayne Tauer of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Alan, and father-in-law Raymond Tauer.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that God is not the cause of this sadness. But He WILL soon fix it. Soon He will fulfill the promise made to us in John 5:28&29, and Revelation 21:3&4. I sincerely hope you find comfort in these scriptures about our future here in Earth…Jw.org
