Audrey Jean Seikora

Audrey Jean Seikora age 69 of Wabasso passed away suddenly Saturday March 19, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m.Thursday, March 24 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Private family interment will be held at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Audrey was born June 20, 1941 at home in Vesta to Otto and Norma Jean (Gladitsch) Rakke.  She attended school in Vesta, leaving to take care of her younger brothers and sisters.  She spent many years helping around the family home.  On July 18, 1959, Audrey was united in marriage to Francis Seikora.  After the wedding, the couple moved to Washington state for several years while Francis was in the military.  They then returned to farm in the Wabasso area.  Audrey stayed home to raise her children.  After they were grown, she began working as a housekeeper at the Wabasso Health Care Center, where she remained for over 20 years.  Audrey was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she served on the CCW.  She liked collecting lawn ornaments and teddy bears.  She loved getting her hair done every Friday.  Audrey enjoyed reading, going to the lake during the summer, and family gatherings, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and siblings.

Audrey is survived by her husband Francis of 50 years; children: Sharon Garcia of St. Paul, Pamela Holmes of Wabasso, Gail (Jim) Seikora-Hanson of Redwood Falls, Renee (Mark) Junker of Redwood Falls, Frank (Jenny) Seikora of Lamberton, Michelle (Darris) Dehncke of Franklin, Terry (Jason) Idso of Litchfield and Carrie (Jeremy) Schulte of Wabasso; 25 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Kathy (Jerry) Brettin of Renville, Elaine (Jim) Tompt of Shakopee, Barb (Dean) Buesing of Granite Falls, Deb (Tim) Agre of Maple Plain, & Bruce (special friend Ann Bruns) Rakke of Redwood Falls; her beloved dog Foxy; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard and Ed Rakke, uncle Walter Gladitsch and an infant son Michael.
