Memorial Services Following Cremation
Some families elect to have a cremation done prior to the memorial service at a church, cemetery, funeral home or alternative location. The urn is often present for the services, and may be displayed along with photos and other memorabilia to reflect the life that was lived. Visitations also can take place with cremation services, and play an important role in the healing process. It provides a time for family and friends to gather and share memories and show support for one another.
Green, Contemporary or Alternative Service
“Green” services are funeral services that are considered environmentally friendly. It may be any level of service from using caskets made from renewable resources, embalming with all natural materials or no embalming at all. It can also include burial in a “green” cemetery without an outer burial container, or even printed products made from recycled materials using wind generated energy. Alternative services such as water resomation are also available.
