Shirley Heiling Shirley Heiling, age 78 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Wabasso, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 9, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.  Burial is in the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Wabasso.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shirley Ann Heiling was born December 27, 1938 in Wabasso, Minnesota to Christian and Helen (Soupir) Gores. She grew up in the Wabasso area and graduated from St. Anne’s School in 1957. On June 14, 1958, Shirley married Kenneth Heiling at St. Anne’s Church in Wabasso. Shirley was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Aide group and the home extension group. Shirley also spent time volunteering for Groundswell in Wanda. In her free time Shirley loved fishing with Kenneth and helping out on the farm. Shirley also was a wonderful cook, painter, and artist. Shirley enjoyed sewing, spending time outdoors, and dancing.  She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Shirley is survived by her husband Kenneth; children: Steve (Janet) Heiling, Kathy (Joe) Jenniges, Barb (Ron) Hoffman, and Colleen (David) Slough; grandchildren: Dustin Heiling, Mitch (Michelle) Heiling, Danny (JoAnna) Jenniges, Alyssa (Parker) Berent, Alexandra Hoffman, Emily Hoffman, Amanda Hoffman, Katie Slough, and Matt Slough; great grandchildren Kensley and Paysen Heiling; and sisters JoAnne (Don) Pelzel and Susan (Rick) Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald, Donald, Fredrick, and Robert Gores, and grandson Johnny Slough.

  1. Hard to believe Shirleys gone. Seems like yesterday that she was a skinny little thing out suntanning behind the house. Sending lots of hugs to all esp. Barb, love you. Sorry for the loss of your mom a very lovely lady always!
