Shirley MillerShirley Marie Miller, age 77 of Wabasso, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 13 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.  Visitation is 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.  Burial is in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born November 8, 1938 in Morgan, Minnesota to Norman “Bus” and Helen (Wall) Hansen.  She attended elementary school in Morgan for two years, and then attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Lucan.  Shirley graduated from Milroy High School in 1956.  On July 5, 1958, Shirley was united in marriage to Jerry Miller at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.  The couple spent 15 months in Hawaii while Jerry was serving in the US Navy.  After Jerry’s service, they returned to Lucan, and later moved to Wabasso in 1960.  Shirley began working in the Post Office in 1975.  In 2000, she retired as Postmaster.  Shirley was an avid Wabasso Rabbits sports fan, and attended all of her children’s, and grandchildren’s activities.  She was very active in her church and community.  She was a longtime member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church where she served on the CCW.  She was also a member of the extension club.  Shirley was the coordinator for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, volunteered for the food shelf, and served as a 4H leader for many years.  She enjoyed flower gardening and baking.  She always made time for people anytime they needed anything.  Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and the numerous events with her siblings.

Shirley is survived by her children: Glen (Jill) Miller of Nevada, IA, Ron (Missy) Miller of Sleepy Eye, Shelly (Bruce) Wotschke of Vesta, and Tim (Sandy) Miller of Mantorville; 15 grandchildren: Jake (Sara) Miller and Bridget (Josh) Black, Nicole (Cody) Wardner, Ashley (Josh) Doll and Ross Potter, Zachary, Anna, Luke, Leah and John Miller, Michael, Daniel and Jennie Wotschke, and Taylor and Tanner Miller; five great grandchildren: McCoy Miller, Royce and Henry Wardner, Bayle Johnson and Gunner Doll; siblings: Jim (Arlene) Hansen of Max, Judy Brau of Brainerd, Kenny (Judy) Hansen of Lucan, Bunny Schmidt of Redwood Falls, Helen (Gary) Zubel of St. Charles, IL, and Donna Schlemmer of Wabasso; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and daughter Sherry Potter.
