Larry A. Soupir

Larry A. Soupir age 75 of Lucan passed away on Sunday, August 05, 2012 at Gil Mor Manor in Morgan.  A

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry A. Soupir was born April 9, 1937 in Lucan, MN to Anton & Sadie (Zollner) Soupir.  He was baptized April 18, 1937, and later received his first communion and was confirmed all at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan.  Larry attended St. Anne’s Catholic School.  He was a very hard working man.  As a young man Larry worked for his uncle, Vincent Soupir Construction, and later for Robert L. Carr Construction out of Marshall building pole barns.  He also farmed with his dad and brother Bob for many years.  Larry served in the National Guard out of Redwood Falls for 7 years.  He enjoyed watching racing and working on the race cars.  He liked to go fishing and deer hunting.  Larry also enjoyed snowmobiling.

Larry is survived by his children: Julie (Melvin) Gewerth of Morton, Mary Kay (Myles) Butcher of Brownton, and Douglas (special friend Trudy) Soupir of Cottonwood.  He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters Delorse (Hal) Kravig of Tennessee and Joan Wagner of Seaforth; brother Robert Soupir of Milroy; and many other relatives and friends.  Preceding him in death are his parents and a daughter Ellen.
