Warren Hawton Warren Earl Hawton, age 88 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Seattle, WA, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be Friday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation is 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday. Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Warren Earl Hawton was born July 10, 1927 in Seattle, Washington to Clarence and Violet (Cain) Hawton. He attended school in Seattle, Morton, and Renville. During WWII Warren was stationed at Fort Custer, MI at the military base and worked at Percy Jones Military Hospital. He met the love of his life, Esther Castle, and they were married on August 30, 1952 in Redwood Falls. Warren farmed for several years. He later worked at John Deere and at the county courthouse. Warren retired in 1989. He served as an auxiliary police officer and also served on the Planning Commission and Cemetery Board. Warren enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, camping, and boating. He enjoyed projects that involved working with his hands and continued finding projects to keep his family busy right to the end. Warren had a passion for gardening that even followed him to the nursing home as he tended to and grew the best tomatoes anywhere! One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Warren is survived by his wife Esther of 62 years; children: Diana Hawton of Redwood Falls, Richard Hawton of Redwood Falls, Russell Hawton of Brooklyn Park, Beth (Don) Leopold of Redwood Falls, and Linda Wildeman of Worthington; grandchildren: Jason (special friend Lydia) Wildeman, Michael (fiancée Rachel) Wildeman, Amanda (Dan) Ascherl, Angela Hawton, Scott (Casey) Leopold, and Lindsey (fiancé Scott) Hawton; great grandchildren: Nolan, Elsie, and Grant Leopold, Isabella, Tenley, and Ryder Ascherl, Destiny and Lily McCullough, and one great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his siblings Marilyn (Michael) Dooner of Arlington and Lowell (Carole) Hawton of Albertville, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Violet, step-mother Esther Hawton, a baby brother, and brother Clinton.
