Alvin L. Wohnoutka age 76 of Milroy, formerly of the Bechyn area, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Milroy.  Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.  Interment is in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alvin Louis Wohnoutka was born May 10, 1936 in Henryville Township, Renville County, MN to Anton and Bessie (Trochlil) Wohnoutka.  After graduating from high school in Morton, he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Mount McKinley.  He received an Honorable Discharge in 1958.  Alvin farmed in the Renville and Redwood County area until 1984, and then was an equipment salesman in Marshall.  On November 5, 1960 he was united in marriage to Regina Swoboda.  Alvin spent his retirement surrounded by agriculture.  He was active in tractor clubs and repaired and painted tractors and plows in his shop.  Alvin was a dedicated husband to his wife Regina.  He was very proud of his grandchildren and was active in attending their sports activities.

Alvin is survived by his wife Regina; son Brian of Sioux Falls; 3 grandchildren: Joel, Kaitlin, and Erik Wohnoutka of Luverne; sister-in-law Nancy Wohnoutka of Chaska; nephew Scott (Judy) Wohnoutka of Rosemount; and brothers-in-law Robert (Jan) Swoboda and Maynard (Barb) Swoboda, both of Redwood Falls.  He is preceded in death by his father Anton, mother Bessie, brother Tom, sister-in-law Lorrie, father-in-law Joe, and mother-in-law Beatrice.  Blessed be his memory.
