Betty GordonBetty Gordon age 87 of Tyler passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 5 at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Burial is in the church cemetery.  Online condolences may be placed at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tyler Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Jane (Kerr) Gordon was born August 7, 1928 in Ogema, Wisconsin to John Byron and Johanna Louise (O’Hearn) Kerr.  She was baptized, received her first communion, and was confirmed at Church of Saint Mary’s in Tracy.  She attended Tracy public school.  Betty was united in marriage to Manley Gordon on July 3, 1944 in Luverne, Minnesota.  The marriage was later blessed by the Catholic priest in Milroy.  Betty worked as a nurse’s aide and cook at the school and the hospital, and bookkeeper and meat wrapper at the Tyler Locker.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  Betty enjoyed reading, bird watching, refinishing furniture, and canning.  She loved to dance, listen to country music, and watch old movies.

Betty is survived by her children: Patty, Gary, Alan, Kathleen, Marlene, Rita, Sue and Jim; grandchildren: Jason, Joe, David, Scott, Erin, Jeri, Mindi, Chad, Darin, Brock, Reed, Michelle, Natasha, Tessa, Melissa, Keith, Amber, Brittany, Clint, and Cheyanne; 32 great grandchildren; and brother Jim Kerr.  She is preceded in death by her parents John and Johanna, husband Manley, and brother Roger Kerr.
