Catherine DuscherCatherine Duscher age 94 of Marshall, formerly of Lucan, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home.  Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial is in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Vesta.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Catherine L. Duscher was born November 11, 1919 in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Jacob and Mary (Budik) Frank.  She attended country school District 104, and then worked in St. Paul for some time.  On February 20, 1942, Catherine married Roman Moudry in Bechyn, Minnesota, and they lived and worked at the Rauenhorst Seed Company near Olivia.  They later moved to a farm near Morton, and from there, to a farm by Milroy.  Catherine and Roman were members of Holy Name Catholic Church in Vesta.  Roman died on May 25, 1964 at the age of 46, and Catherine stayed on the farm for 12 years before moving to Vesta, and later Lucan.  Catherine married Bill Duscher in Tracy, Minnesota on June 15, 1984 and they made their home in Lucan.  During this time, Catherine worked at the Redwood Falls Hospital, a job she held for 7 ½ years.  Catherine and Bill loved to dance, and they attended many dances and Polka festivals, and they won several Polka dance contests.  Catherine and Bill moved to an apartment in Marshall, Minnesota on October 9, 2010.  Bill died on December 10, 2011.  Catherine can be remembered by her love for music and dancing, playing cards, gardening, cooking and canning.

Catherine is survived by her children: Richard (Mary) Moudry of Milroy, James (Betty) Moudry of Bellevue, Nebraska, Shirley (Loren) Doppenberg of Brandon, SD, Kathie (Claire) Erickson of Cottonwood, Steven (Lisa) Moudry of Albert Lea; 4 step-sons: Kenneth (Barb) Duscher, Harley (Tammy) Duscher, Larry (Patti) Duscher, Duane (Connie) Duscher; 13 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; one sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Roman and Bill, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, one step grandson, and one step great-granddaughter.  Blessed be her memory.
