Dean RudenickDean Carl Rudenick, age 60 of rural Seaforth, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls after a courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Seaforth.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dean Carl Rudenick was born February 8, 1958 to Russell and Mary (Roiger) Rudenick in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  He was baptized on March 9, 1958 and confirmed on May 14, 1972 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Seaforth.  Dean graduated from Wabasso Public School in 1976. On November 18, 1978, Dean married Ann Rohlik at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Seaforth.  He lived and worked on the family farm two miles east of Seaforth.  He also worked at Country Ornamental in Vesta.  Dean later worked at Schmidt Construction and most recently spent the past 15 years at A&W Furniture.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and cards and reading western books.  Dean loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dean is survived by wife Ann of 39 years; children: Jennifer, Clinton (Sara), Clifford (Cristin) all of Seaforth, and Clayton (Sheena) of Willmar; 5 grandchildren: Dugan & Rhylee Rudenick, Holden Rudenick, and Ayla & Nolan Rudenick; mother Mary Rudenick of Seaforth; siblings: Wayne (Jan) Rudenick of Redwood Falls, Deb (Bob) Zwach of Milroy, Pam Maasch of Vesta, Paula (Mark) Lockhart of New Prague; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Russell.

    I didn’t know Dean or Ann but certainly acquainted with Dean’s mother, Mary. She was a good neighbor to my mother, Lydia Bernard. My condolences to every member of the family in the loss of your loved one.
