Wilferd L. Einertson

Wilferd Lyle Einertson, age 93 of rural Storden passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church in Westbrook.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Old Westbrook Cemetery. The Westbrook Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Memorials preferred to the Old Westbrook Lutheran Church.

Wilferd Lyle Einertson was born February 4, 1916 to Joseph and Laura (Anderson) Einertson on the family farm in Cottonwood County. He was baptized and confirmed at Old Westbrook Church. Wilferd was united in marriage to Rachel Christine Thompson on June 12, 1936. Wilferd farmed in the Storden – Westbrook area until his retirement in 1982.

Wilferd was a member of the Westbrook Lions Club. He was also an active member of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church, serving as deacon. He served on the church cemetery board and was sexton of the cemetery. Wilferd enjoyed farming, square dancing, fishing, and playing cards. He also enjoyed his winters in Texas and visiting with family and friends.

Wilferd is survived by daughters: Connie Hammer of Akeley, MN and Carol & Orie Asleson of New Ulm; grandchildren: Michael & Gayleen Asleson, Kim & Norm Okerstrom, Jeff & Tammy Hammer, David & Cinthya Hammer, Steve & Ellyece Hammer; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons; sister Joyce & Gordon Hedman; brother Marvin & Caryl Einertson; and many relatives and friends. Wilferd was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Verna and Helma; and son-in-law Clint Hammer.
