At the age of 16 she asked the Lord Jesus to be her personal savior and was later baptized by immersion. On November 22, 1947, at the age of 17, she was united in marriage to Gerald P. Rankin. Four children were born to this union; Gerald Earl, Glenn Paul, Gordon Donald and Gail Ann. Gloria did a lot of baking when her family was young. She was very active in church singing in the choir, being faithful with sharing the gospel to others, and entertaining families in her home. She was known at Jeffers Baptist Church as the “Candy Grandma.” She stayed home with her children and was a homemaker. She lived in Michigan until she moved to California, where she was then united in marriage to George Thomas Redman on April 24, 1970 at the age of 39. To this union another daughter was added, Yvonne Marie. They lived one year in California and then moved back to Michigan until she and George decided to travel for 15 years. The last 20 years she lived in Florida during the winter and Minnesota during the summer. She would often be found playing baseball with her sons. In her later years she enjoyed traveling, her flowers, bird watching and golfing. She also loved spending time with family and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria is survived by her husband George Redman; sons: Gerald (Lorna), Glenn (Karen), and Gordon (Danni) Rankin; daughters: Gail (Dick) Smith and Yvonne (Ron) Sheffield; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
