Gordon Hemish Gordon Howard Hemish age 89 of Marshall, formerly of Tracy, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident two years ago. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 30 at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. A private family burial will be held in the Marshall Cemetery later in the day. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gordon Howard Hemish was born August 10, 1926 near Canby, Minnesota to Frank and Ida (Slamma) Hemish. He attended grade school near Marshall through the 6th grade, when he quit school to help on the family farm. In 1946, he moved with his family to a farm north of Tracy. On March 26, 1955, Gordon was united in marriage to Doris Mae Gilb at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. They resided on the family farm where they raised their four children. Gordon enjoyed his cattle, farming, tractor pulls, and dancing. He also enjoyed gathering with friends after church for breakfast at the Red Rooster. Gordon loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gordon is survived by his wife Doris Mae of over 60 years; three sons: Michael (Bonnie) Hemish of Lake Crystal, Dennis (Charlene) Hemish of Walnut Grove, and Kevin (Penny) Hemish of Willmar; daughter Kathleen (John) Pollock of Lynd; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

    Mike & Bonnie, and to Gordon’s family, so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I can always remember of hearing what a hard working man he was, he obviously instilled those values in his children. We are truly sorry for your loss.
