Sharon Hennen, age 70, of Redwood Falls passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Seasons Hospice following a battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.  Burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice, Redwood County Relay for Life, or American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sharon Hennen was born October 7, 1941 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Joe and Irene (Kodet) Ruhland.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Morton.  Sharon graduated from Morton High School in 1959.  On February 11, 1961 she was united in marriage to Darrell Hennen at St. John’s Catholic Church in Morton.  Sharon was a member of the Morton Lioness and St. Catherine’s CCW.  She was a religion teacher at St. John’s for many years, teaching the 2nd graders – 1st communion class.  Sharon enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking, especially pies, embroidering dishtowels, and reading.  Sharon loved having garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband Darrell “Butch” Hennen of Redwood Falls; children: Scott (Judy) of Waconia, John (Lisa) of Carver, Greg (Mary) of Whitefish, MT, Jim of Mankato, Lori (Chris) Hacker of Morgan, and Melissa (John) Murphy of Victoria; grandchildren: Jaci, Michael & Nick Hennen, Dani (Tyler) Westling & Sean Hennen, Ryan & Mitchell Hennen, Jordan & Megan Hacker, Jack, Claire, Erin, Finn & Matthew Murphy; and great grandchild Mason Westling.  She is also survived by siblings: Darrell Ruhland of Moose Lake, Dean (Elaine) Ruhland of New London, Joe (Kris) Ruhland of Andover, Debbie (Bob) Zupke of Olivia, Vicki Ruhland of Dassel, Mary (Mike) Neubauer of Bird Island, and Ann (Bill) Simmons of Hutchinson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
