Winston “Winnie” D. Johnson age 80 of Dovray passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment is in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  The Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Winston Johnson was born March 10, 1930 in Avoca, Minnesota to Hans J. and Olga B. (Julien) Johnson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray.  He attended school in Dovray and graduated from Westbrook High School.  Winston was a lifelong farmer, farming with his brother Irvin on his farm near Dovray in Murray County.  He enjoyed the simple, rural life.  Winston was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  He was a passionate reader and loved solving puzzles.  He was an animal lover, enjoyed the outdoors and sports, especially baseball and was a fan of the New York Yankees.

Winston is survived by his sisters Joyce Bonk of Ann Arbor, MI and Janice (David) Tweet of Eden Prairie, MN; his faithful companion, his Black Lab Katie; and other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Irvin.
