Warren A. Kremin

Warren A. Kremin, age 83, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Vesta, passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Redwood Area Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26 at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.  Interment is in Vesta Cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting with family with arrangements.

 

Warren Allen Kremin was born June 21, 1927 to Erwin and Minnie (Schaffran) Kremin in Underwood Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta by Rev. Sauer.  He was confirmed by Pastor Brickmann May 4, 1941.  Warren attended country school during his elementary years and graduated from Milroy High School in 1945.  On December 28, 1946 he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged June 11, 1948 with the rank of Sergeant T4.  He married Jean Rudy November 25, 1950 at Rock Dell Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Belview.  This union was blessed with 4 children.  Warren farmed west of Vesta.  He was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vesta where he held many offices and was on the building committee.  Warren was also on the Underwood Township Board.  In 1986 they moved to Redwood Falls where he was custodian of Lakeside Manor.  He was also employed part-time at Schoffman’s and Running’s in Redwood Falls.  Warren enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He enjoyed fishing and camping in their motorhome.  Warren’s favorite pastime was visiting with people.

Warren is survived by his wife Jean of 60 years; children: Nancy (Charles) Schmidt, Susan Morey, all of Redwood Falls, Larry (Beverly) of Vesta, and Brad (Missy) of Minneota; grandchildren: Jeff Schmidt, Jennifer Hahn, Lisa Hildebrandt, Jennifer Berns, Angela Larson, Jacob Pequin, Ketrah, Kelby, and Kenzie Meiners, and Lyssa and Brock Kremin; 8 great grandchildren; sister Leora (Bill) Erickson of Brainerd; sisters-in-law Deloris Kremin, Phyllis Kremin, and Marge Kremin; brothers-in-law Ben Kraemer, Bruce (Karen) Rudy and Herb Traub; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, siblings: Orville, LeRoy, Doris, Donald, and Ardyce; sister-in-law Beverly Traub, son-in-law Larry Osmond, and grandson-in-law Jeff Hildebrandt.
