Our sympathy and love to all the family. She was like a mother to me when I was a young and naive wife, taught me how to cook, bake and can. Still use her recipes. Jerry always enjoyed our visits with Horace and Lucille when we stopped to visit them. So thankful for having had her in my life.

  3. Our sympathy and condolences to All of you. I used to call her Grandma Lucille , she always had that sparkle to her eyes , that big smile with lipstick on her lips. She is in peace now and pain free. God Bless

Losing those we love is a painful experience and one that only God can ease, knowing that we’ll be reunited.

  5. God’s blessings to you all. I am so thankful I got to know your parents, Jan. Your mom was always so gracious. I still have and use the cookbook she gave me that has some of her wonderful recipes and those of many of your relatives.

Jan and Bob, you must be so saddened by the loss of your wonderful mother – she possessed so many qualities above and beyond the ordinary woman.

I was fortunate to have Lucille in my life when she and Horace stopped by my house, sometimes a couple of times a week, when I was a naïve and insecure teen-ager.

Lucille and I spent lots of time together standing at the kitchen counter. As we prepared food, I could talk to her about anything and never worried that she would divulge even a word outside of that room.

Besides knowing that I could trust her, I also thought she was a beautiful woman. She always had a smile on her face and never complained; her hair and make-up were impeccable; and her choice in clothing was very au courant.

Lucille meant much to me, and I frequently thought of her over the years.

    A life truly well lived!

  9. Dear Jan and family, when our parents pass, there are so many memories that we experience.I am thinking of the wonderful coffee you had for us gals at one of our reunions.yes indeed, your Mom was a good cook! Now she has joined the heavenly choir of angels! God Bless! Judy

  10. Jan, it is so amazing you had your mother for 75 years. Unbelievable, all the memories you have and remember.
We all had so much fun at your house. Your mother was so supportive of all of us. And, she always had a smile on her face. And, was always cooking for us. She was the best.
It is so sad to lose our mothers. Once that happens, we then have to be the matriarch of our family. Our mothers have unconditional love for us. We all wish we had our mother for 75 yrs. So special.
Sympathy to you and your family. Hugs. Barbara and Betty
