Margaret Mary Lussenhop, the daughter of George and Elaine Murry, was born August 5, 1931, in Winnebago, Minnesota. She graduated from Hector High School in 1949 and received her Teacher’s Certificate from St Cloud State University. She loved teaching and enjoyed multiple teaching positions prior to her marriage. On August 17, 1957, Margaret married Larry Lussenhop at Church of the Ascension in Norwood. They lived on the family farm in Paxton Township where there, together, they farmed and raised their eight children. As the children grew up she returned to teaching, first as a substitute teacher, and then full time at St Michael’s Catholic School in Morgan until she retired. In their retirement, Larry and Margaret enjoyed many trips together including Brazil, Alaska, and travels throughout the United States.  Margaret’s life was all about family, faith, and friends. Her children and grandchildren were always her pride and joy.  She devoted years to St John’s Catholic Church as a religious education teacher, involvement in CCW, various committees, and volunteering in the church office. Her time visiting with friends, playing cards, and always enjoying a bottomless cup of coffee was very special to her. She was an avid Minnesota Gophers fan, and spent countless hours watching football and basketball games. As Grandma, there was always a full candy jar at the house and “treat bags” for the ride home.

Margaret is survived by her children: Jon (Karen) Lussenhop, Nancy (Jeff) Polman, Ann (Mark) Ranney, Chris Lussenhop, Judy (Scott) Hennen, Amy (Randy) Senkyr, Tony (Sue) Lussenhop, and Patty (Brian) Ingle; 23 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and her brother, Paul. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry, daughter-in-law Carolyn, sisters Patricia and Ann, and brothers Lawrence and Pat.

Blessed be her memory.

    To all the family,
We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Margaret’s passing! She was such a special lady & will always be remembered with warm regards. She was always available for a chat & a warm hug! I loved sitting & visiting with her during the many church events or when she dropped off one of many pans of bars. ( a whole years supply)
Please know we will pray for God’s grace & peace for your family during the difficult days ahead.
    God Bless,
    Carl, Angie & Mikala Colwell

My heart is heavy tonight hearing this news. What a wonderful woman and fantastic teacher. I remember begging, in tears, to be able to join her section in grade school. Our class was too big and needed to be divided. May all who were blessed to have known this sweet soul find peace in knowing she is with the Lord until we are reunited with her again.
