Marjorie Ann Sebesta was born October 7, 1919 to Bruce and Matilda (Larson) Mowery in rural Milroy, Minnesota.  She graduated from Tracy High School in 1937, then attended nursing school at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and graduated as a registered nurse in November, 1941. During her career she worked as a registered nurse at several hospitals including Madison, WI, Chicago, IL, Ithaca, NY and Stillwater, OK.  Marjorie married Emil Sebesta in Glen Ellyn, IL in 1947. They later moved to Ithaca, NY, where Emil completed his doctorate degree at Cornell University and in 1957 they moved to Stillwater, OK when Emil accepted a job with the USDA. Marjorie continued her nursing career at Stillwater Memorial Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1962 and devoted her time to raising her family. She was an active member of Agronomy Wives at Oklahoma State University and the church guild at St John’s University Parish in Stillwater.  Marjorie continued to live in Stillwater following Emil’s death in 1988, then returned to her childhood hometown of Tracy in 1995 to be closer to family. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters Helen Drackley and Virginia Benson and their spouses, Willard Drackley and Ronald Benson as well as sister-in law Mary Lou Warren and her husband Jim. Marjorie was grateful to be able to live independently well into her 90’s. She especially loved working in her yard and was thankful to be able to continue gardening until she moved into an assisted living home in Tracy at the age of 95.

Marge is survived by her sons: Paul (Debbie) Sebesta of Patagonia, AZ and Stephen (Patti) Sebesta of Fargo, ND: grandchildren: Amy (Jon) Henderson of Victoria, TX, Jennifer (James) Kappel of Edmond, OK, Ashley (Jason) Cain of Roanoke, VA, and Kyle (Allison) Sebesta of Bismarck, ND; great grandsons: Ryan & Jack Henderson, Dylan Sebesta, Carson Cain, and Noah Sebesta. 2. Thinking of you at this time of loss. Have so many Wonderful memories of Marge. Her and my mother had so many fun times together. They were quite the flower ladies.! They so enjoyed their friendship and fun times. They enjoyed visiting at the farm. I so enjoyed my time at O’Brien Court doing Marges hair. She was always looking good. Even when she got so she could not remember my name she knew I made her hair look good!

  4. Paul, Stephen, and Families, Just returned from Texas to learn of your beloved Mom’s passing. My heartfelt sympathy to all of Marge’s family and friends in their loss. Marge was so very proud of her children and grandchildren. Marge was a great neighbor and the dearest of friends. We often spend hours chatting in our backyards: family, flowers, world events, politics, and the daily topics. Marge was such a kind, caring, thoughtful lady who helped me many times. I, too, share your loss and will forever cherish my fond memories of Marge. For certain, Marge is enjoying the beautiful landscape and glorious flowers in Heaven. Forever loved and Remembered, Marge!

  5. Marge and Emil, as good friends of my parents, were around during our growing up years. As I recall they first met when Marge and Emil rented an apt from my parents. Marge pierced my ears — I couldn’t afford to have them done so since she wasn’t afraid of a needle I asked her to do it. We both cringed during the piercing as she had never done it. Neither of us had experience but I think of her to this day every time I put earrings in! She was such a sweetheart. My condolences to her family.

  6. I was preschool when Mom brought me along to her house to have sewing club. I remember Marge gave me guppies and was somehow responsible for getting us our 1st dog- “Mike” a cocker spaniel. She was a good friend to Mom. My condolences.
