Maxine PistulkaMaxine Pistulka age 89 of Seaforth passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maxine Eleanor (Castle) Pistulka was born October 17, 1927 to Roy and Miriam (Jacobs) Castle in Marshall, Minnesota.  She worked as a telephone operator after her schooling.  On July 18, 1951 Maxine married Joseph Pistulka in Ghent, Minnesota.  After marriage the couple lived in Seaforth and together they operated the grocery store.  Maxine supported Joseph in his Mobil Bulk Agent business.  They celebrated 57 years of marriage.  Maxine and Joseph raised their nine children.  She was a religious education teacher for many years and would prepare the second grade students for first communion.  Maxine also worked as an election judge for many years.  She was a member of Christian Mothers and also sang in the church choir.  She loved baking, flower gardening and crossword puzzles. Maxine enjoyed doing crafts and making special dolls for each of her daughters.

Maxine is survived by her children: Robbie Schubert of Ames, IA, Roxanne (Dr. Jeff) Bittner of Federal Dam, MN, Brian (Marge) Pistulka of Coral Springs, FL, Judy (Mike) Kaplan of Middletown, CT, Stephanie (Daryl) Fladhammer of Wabasso, Valerie (Louis) Serrano of Dana Point, CA, Jolene (Donn) Fahey of Fairfax, and Bradley Pistulka of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Stephanie Schubert, Elizabeth and Ally Fladhammer, Quinn, Chris and Eric Fahey, Melanie and Meredith Pistulka, Zoe Kaplan, and Noel and Elise Serrano and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, daughter Mary Kay, son-in-law David Schubert and sister Roisetta.
