Betty Lou Meyer, age 83, of Marshall, formerly of Tracy, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall after a courageous five year battle with lung cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Tracy Lutheran Church.

Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.  Interment is in Tracy City Cemetery.   Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Lou Meyer was born April 1, 1928 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Louis and Martha (Garbrecht) Vogel.  She graduated from Tracy High School in 1946.  On February 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Deane C. Meyer at Tracy Lutheran Church, where she attended with her children.  Betty Louhad various jobs with Dr. J. Von Bokern, Lau Seed Company, Tracy High School, and Schwans Sales in Marshall.  She moved to California in 1978 to be with her daughter Chris, husband Rick and grandchildren.  They were the joy of her life.  Betty Lou worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at Pajaro Greenhouse and also for a Cadillac service.  She moved back to Marshall in 1984 where she retired.  Betty Lou lived at Park View Apartments for many years.  She enjoyed knitting, doing odd jobs for seniors, and helping them.  One of her many enjoyments was taking care of Jan’s cats and her pond.  She was a very giving and loving person and will be missed by many.
Betty Lou is survived by her daughters Janice (Randy) Parde of Marshall and Christine (Rick) Podratz of Corralitos, CA; 4 grandchildren: Chrystal (Justin) Lair, and Amber, Zack, and Shane Podratz; and great granddaughter Addison Lair.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Deane, and brother Myron Vogel.
