Arthur “Art” Ross Warner was born November 8, 1938 to Walter and Mable (Marshall) Warner at home on the farm, south of Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He attended two different one-room country schools outside of Redwood Falls for his early education. Art then attended school in Morton, Redwood Falls, and Franklin, before returning to Redwood Falls High School for his senior year where he graduated in 1957. After graduating, Art began his career in farming and worked as a detasseling crew leader. He also pledged his service to his country by joining the Army National Guard, where he served until 1963. Art was baptized and confirmed his faith in 1966 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Flora Township, Renville County. He remained an active member there, serving on church council and various committees, until its closing in 2022. He then joined St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. On September 10, 1966, Art was united in marriage to Arlene Breitkreutz at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Flora Township. They made their home first in Delhi, MN for a few years until they were able to purchase their own farm. Art and Arlene were blessed with two children: Bryan and Kristen. Following the death of Arlene in 1988, Art married Delores (Moldan) Homan on August 26, 1995, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Fairfax, MN. They continued to live on the farm until moving to Garnette Gardens in 2023. Farming was an integral part of Art’s entire life, starting at childhood. In 1966, after his marriage to Arlene, Art began farming with his new brother-in-law, Marvin Breitkreutz. This great partnership continued for over 20 years when the next generation of farmers were getting ready to join. Although his ability became less as the years progressed, Art farmed until he was 84 years old, and if his body and mind would have allowed, he undoubtedly would have continued farming. Even when it became too difficult for Art to help with the farming, he still deeply loved being around the farm operations — and, of course, his cats. In addition to farming, Art also served on the board of the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative. Art was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. Spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids brought him immense joy and helped keep his spirit young. Right up until the end of his life, he loved playing with toy tractors on his lap alongside his great-grandson. Art was always easy going, liked to joke around, and never took life too seriously. Art brought so much joy to all the lives he touched through his bright and cheery personality and could always make someone laugh with his never-ending one-liners. He will be greatly missed. Art’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Garnette Gardens for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Art.

Art is survived by his wife, Delores Warner; children: Bryan Warner and Kristen (Brian) Hetchler; grandchildren: Ashley (Brady) Keehl, Chelsey Warner, Breanna, Danny, and Mikaela Hetchler; great grandchildren: Baylor & Isla Keehl; 5 stepchildren: Ron (Sarah) Homan, Brian (Teri) Homan, Sandy (Brian) Ryberg, Nancy (Paul) Anderson, and Doug (Dana) Homan; 17 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; sibling-in-laws: Karne Warner and Ramona Warner; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Warner, brothers: Robert & Kenny Warner, sister and brother-in-law Ruth & Gene Freyholtz, step granddaughter Anissa Ryberg, and step great grandson Carsten Homan.
