David Joseph May was born November 1, 1961 in Demopolis, Alabama to John and Donica (Boshela) May. He began his schooling in a private school and later attended public school. David grew up in Alabama, and worked as a farmer, truck driver, and eventually a heavy equipment operator working in the Nevada gold fields.  David came to Minnesota for a visit and fell in love with the area and made it his home. He worked for Riddell Construction, the Jeffers Elevator, and farmed some land near Storden. His main love was raising cattle; Scottish Highlander Cross. He also worked for Amboy Township grading roads. Outside of work, David loved hunting, fishing, and camping. In 2015, David’s frequent trips to Auto Value in Windom allowed him to cross paths with Barbara Hepp as she was working there, and helped him on many occasions. They formed an instant connection and where one went, the other accompanied.

David is survived by his soul mate, Barbara Hepp of Jeffers; children: Jeromy “Adam” (Laura) May of Biloxi, MS, Brian May of Delano, CA; and Rachel May; 4 grandchildren; and brother Thomas May, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents.
