Edward Louis Huls, age 91 of Jeffers, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Lake.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday AT THE CHURCH and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  Interment is in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ed was born on August 16, 1933 to Thomas and Marie (Onken) Huls at the family farm in Jackson County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Ed served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956.  On January 19, 1957 Ed was united in marriage with Beulah Gundermann at the American Lutheran Church in Westbrook. From this unity came five sons and two daughters.  In 1964, Ed and Beulah moved to a farm outside of Jeffers in Amboy Township. There he farmed for many years. Ed and Beulah enjoyed their volunteer work with Lutheran Brotherhood projects and also their work at Shetek Lutheran Ministries Bible Camp.  He loved land and livestock farming, wood working, and showing his grandkids life on the farm. He will be remembered by his family for his delicious goulash!

Ed is survived by his children: Paul (Sue) Huls of Jeffers; Michael (Wendy) Huls of Rochester; Martin Huls of Jeffers; David (Laura) Huls of Farmington; Maria (Ivan) Carter of Jeffers; and Leonard (Shelly) Huls of Mankato; grandchildren: Kristin (Tyler) Snell, Emily (Gee) Lewis, Lucas (Kaitlyn) Huls, Brent Huls, Allan (Nikki) Huls, Jeana (Mark) Nylen, Carl Huls, Joel (Ashley) Huls, Jesse (Jessica) Huls, Shawn Huls, Katrina Miller, Sarah Huls, Kyle (Christina) Huls, Erik (Katie) Huls, Calista (Tyler) Hett, Brian (Dava) Huls, Leah (Dahlton) Bell, Joshua (Brittney) Carter, Alicia (Jake) Swenhaugen, Caleb (Mia) Huls, Kendra (Nick) Zabel, and Carter Huls; 40 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Rindfleisch of Minneapolis and Ruth (John) Smith of Windom; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Beulah of 64 years; infant daughter Stephanie; great-grandson Trevor Donkersloot, sisters: Anne Hansen, Evelyn Easterday, Irene Froderman, brothers-in-law: Thomas Easterday, Vernon Hansen, Eugene (Pete) Gundermann, Francis DeFriess, and sisters-in-law: Eunice DeFriess and Myrt Gundermann.
