Terry Kay Johnson was born April 22, 1952 to Norman and Anna (VanAvermaet) Johnson in Tracy, Minnesota. He graduated from Tracy High School, Pipestone Vocational School and was an entrepreneur at heart. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Barb, June 19, 1982 and they had one daughter, Holly. They lived in Long Lake for 34 years, where he owned Budget Printing & Awards and worked alongside his daughter for 15 years. In 2019, following retirement, Terry and Barb moved permanently to their beloved lake home on Lake Sarah in Garvin. Terry’s short time of retirement was spent farming, spending time with friends, and traveling with his family. Terry was a man of God and practiced his faith as a member of Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. We can’t express enough gratitude towards Dr. Mark Huber, Jessica Moriarity, CNP and all the wonderful nurses and staff at the Avera Cancer Institute in Marshall. Terry spent many months receiving chemotherapy treatments and appreciated their honesty and kindness every step of the way.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Barb of Garvin; his daughter Holly and son-in-law Jeffrey Caple along with his beloved grandchildren Grace and Ian, all of Delano; brothers: Duane (Virginia) Johnson of Denver, CO, Gene (Linda) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Joey (Carol) Johnson of Walnut Grove, Gary (Brenda) Johnson of Raymond, Eddy (Mary) Johnson of Redwood Falls, Mike Johnson of Rochester, and Kent (Sue) Johnson of Rochester; brother-in-law Steve (Nancy) Holm of Marshall; sisters-in-law: Mary Johnson of Marshall and Diane Johnson of Rochester; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends.
