Cheryl Rae Pabst

Cheryl Rae Pabst age 63 of Sanborn, formerly of Storden, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday AT THE CHURCH, and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.  Interment is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  The Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cheryl was born November 3, 1946 to Lars and Dessie (Earp) Egenes.  She was baptized and confirmed at Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden.  She attended Storden High School, graduating in 1964.  She worked as a telephone operator from 1964 – 1966.  Cheryl was united in marriage to Brian Pabst on June 17th 1965 at Amo Lutheran Church.  To this union, three children were born: Troy, Kim and David “Crockett”.

Cherie enjoyed doing many things including going fishing (out-fishing her husband Brian) at their cabin up north and listening to the loons while enjoying each other’s company.  She also enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren, working in her flower beds, gardening, needlework, and doing the crossword puzzle every morning with her husband.  Cherie will always be remembered for lending a helping hand to anyone in need.  She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Brian of 45 years; children: Troy Pabst (fiancé Pam) of Sanborn, Kimberly Fox (special friend Jeff) of Sanborn and David (Lynn)  Pabst of Springfield; 10 grandchildren: Lacy, Shala, Brandon, Brady, Jesse, Krystal, Reed, Avoree, Brenna, & Marissa; two great grandchildren: Cassidy & Layne; siblings: Harriet Moller of Jeffers, Stanley (Ruth) Egenes of Slayton, David (Rozzie) Egenes of Lamberton, and Linda Pauling of Virginia, MN; mother & father in law Albert & Esther Pabst of Sanborn; brothers and sisters in law: Miles (Sharon) Pabst of Norman, OK, Ralph (Karen) Pabst of Sanborn, Roxanna (Ed) Cohrs of Sanborn and Pauline (Shawn) Wohnoutka of Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousin Shirley Schoenenberger.  She is preceded in death by her father Lars Egenes in 1981, mother Dessie in 2008, brothers Frank and Leroy, sister Pat, and brothers in law Darrel Banse and Alvin Moller.
