Olson_ScottScott Olson age 53 of Redwood Falls passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in Burnsville, MN.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 at Central Lutheran Church, rural Fairfax.

Visitation is 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial is in Hauges Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Scott Olson was born February 6, 1960 in New Ulm, MN to Emmet and Kathryne (Braun) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church. Scott graduated from Franklin High School. In July of 1985 he was united in marriage to Lynn Greenslit. They were blessed with three sons, Nick, Jake, and Matt. Scott worked at Activeaid, Willmar Poultry, and was currently employed with Central Bi. This coming summer would mark his 15th year at Central Bi. Scott loved working on cars, watching his sons race, and was always helping others with their projects. His pride and joy was being a grandpa. Scott enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, racing, and camping. Scott loved going to old car shows. He enjoyed watching MASH and Bonanza, and going down to “the office”. Scott had many talents, including carpentry, woodworking, and building motors.

Scott is survived by his children: Nicholas (Cassandra) of Raymond, Jacob and Mathew Olson, both of Franklin, Carly Rienstra-Roman (Jose Roman) of Roseville, and Corey Rienstra of Ocheyedan, IA; fiancée Julie Rienstra of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Elaina Olson and Niehmyah Tranbrock; mother Kathryne Olson of Fairfax; siblings: Diane Olson (Jerry Guggisberg) of Fairfax, Tom (Becky) Olson of Fairfax, Becki (Dick) Schweiss of Hutchinson, Jeff (Nancy) Olson of Fairfax, and Sue (Brad) Thompson of Mayer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Emmet, brother Bob, and nephew Chad Bender.
