Shannon EvensonShannon (Bodin) Evenson age 50 of rural Olivia, formerly of the Maynard/ Murdock area, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Olivia Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center while surrounded by her family, following an extended battle with cancer.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.  In accordance with Shannon’s wishes, a private family service will be held.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shannon was born August 25, 1967 in Montevideo to Chester and Cheryl (Ashburn) Bodin.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Clara City.  Shannon graduated from Maynard High School in 1985.  She has lived in rural Olivia for the past 23 years, and has made her life buying, selling and collecting antiques.  Shannon was very creative in her decorating.  She enjoyed watching racing and riding Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Shannon loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Shannon is survived by her significant other Gary Serbus of rural Olivia; parents Cheryl and Chester Bodin of Murdock; children: Lane (Nichole) Bodin of Clara City, Brandon Evenson of Spicer, Dakota Starbeck (special friend Daniel Landers) of Danube & Trevor Serbus (special friend Victoria Knutson) of Olivia; grandchildren: Keagan, Kamry, Layton, Kenden, Daniel, Krew & Maverick; siblings: Shawn (Kevin) Fernholz of De Graff, Chad (Melissa) Bodin of Clara City & Cari Cady of Murdock; and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Raymond & Sophie Bodin and Robert & Jeanette Ashburn and her grandson Logan.
