D. William “Bill” Tiffany, age 88, of Morgan, formerly of Redwood Falls passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 1 at the First Presbyterian Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a Masonic Service to follow.  Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.  Private family interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  The family asks that memorial donations and tributes be sent to the Masonic Memorial Hospital at the University of Minnesota in lieu of flowers.   Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

D. William “Bill” Tiffany was born February 21, 1923, on his parents’ farm in Redwood Falls Township.  He started farming with his father and brothers using horses and early tractors and ended his farming career with modern John Deere tractors.  Bill went to country school and Redwood Falls public schools, graduating in 1940. He often organized reunions of his class and delighted in his classmates’ yarns.  He possessed superior skills as a storyteller and cribbage player.  He enjoyed steak and roast beef dinners and served as chairman of the Redwood County Cattlemen’s Association.  In addition, he was a 4-H club leader and an elder in the First Presbyterian Church, where he baked Scottish shortbread for communion.  He served as Redwood County Commissioner and enjoyed serving the people of his District.  Mr. Tiffany was very active in Freemasonry, serving Minnesota Masons as Grand Master in 1968. He received the 33rd degree of the Scottish Rite in 2003.  Drafted into the U.S. Navy, he served in Philippines and Shanghai, China.  He did not care for swimming, though he had crossed the Pacific twice.  Bill married Catherine Leech in 1948; she died in 1998.  Bill married Lois Peterson of Morgan in 2000 and enjoyed a decade of happiness with her, her children, relatives and many friends.

Bill is survived by his wife, and children: Tom (Cambridge, MA), Douglas and wife Judy Ohannesian (North Oaks, MN), Dr. Margaret and husband Phil Haire (St. Louis Park, MN), Judge Robert and wife Patricia (Park Rapids, MN), Clyde and wife Annette (Spicer, MN).  Surviving grandchildren include William and Ted (Robert), Erica and Harrison (Douglas), and Laura, Jessica, Andrew, and Ben (Clyde) He is also survived by brother John of Redwood Falls.  Preceding him in death were his parents Dougald Milne Tiffany and Jennie June Peabody and his siblings, Donald Tiffany, Margaret Tiffany Wilcox, Gilbert Tiffany, and Robert Tiffany.  Also preceding him in death were two daughters-in-law, Nancy Tiffany (2002) and Katherine Kinderman (2004).
