Ebba B. Timgren age 95 of Dodge Center, formerly of the Vesta area, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.  Interment is in Cottonwood Community Cemetery.   Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ebba B. Timgren was born May 25, 1915 in Taopi, MN to George and Elida (Gunnarsson) Jessen, the oldest of six children.   She came to Minnesota to help relatives with domestic chores.  She met Harold Timgren and they were married July 1, 1938.  They celebrated their golden wedding in 1988.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Kasson, MN.  Ebba was a homemaker and farm wife in the Vesta community.  She and Harold retired from the farm and moved to Vesta in 1973.  She moved from Vesta to Kasson in 2001.  At one time Ebba was employed at the Vesta Elementary School as an assistant cook.  Ebba liked to play cards and Yahtzee.  She canned fruits and vegetables, and baked all sorts of goodies.  She made tie quilts, clothes, and did needle work.  She liked to travel especially to visit relatives in Illinois.  Ebba also made many friends through various clubs and organizations, such as Birthday Club, Tuesday Club, Extension, Senior Citizens, Farm Bureau, and Ladies Aid/UPW at church.  Ebba was proud of her heritage.  She visited Sweden and Denmark, and was able to write and understand the languages.  Ebba enjoyed writing and coffee with the neighbors.

Ebba is survived by children: Joyce Pekula of Omaha, NE; Beverly (Jim) Stucky of Mantorville; Annette (Gary) Spiess of North Mankato; and Wesley Timgren of Braham; daughter-in-law Sharon Timgren of Westbrook; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and siblings: George Jessen of Oglesby, IL; Ella Stirnes of Oglesby, IL; Margaret Hardersen of Sandwich, IL; and Kenneth (Celia) Jessen of Prescott Valley, AZ;.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, son Dennis, son-in-law Dennis Pekula, sister Cis Kiefer, and grandson Bradley Beckman.
